This notice explains what personal information Rooted Media collects through this website and what we do with it, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
When you send a project brief we receive your name, email address, the services you selected and anything you write in the message box. We also collect anonymous usage data (pages visited, device type) to understand how the site is used.
Why we collect it
Only to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and improve this website. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we will not add you to a mailing list without asking.
Where it is stored
Enquiries are stored with our database provider (Convex) and analytics with PostHog and Vercel. These providers may store data outside South Africa, under safeguards comparable to POPIA.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects are deleted within 12 months. Client records are kept for as long as the law requires for invoicing and tax.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how it is used. Email hello@rootedmedia.co.za and we will respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
